If you are searching for information on your New Brunswick ancestors, mark April 24, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., on your calendar. This will be a day to spend at the Mary Oland Theatre, New Brunswick Museum, Market Square, Saint John, New Brunswick.
Navigating the Internet sessions will be provided by the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick, which demonstrates how to navigate the various parts of their website for genealogy research.
The Archives and Research Library staff of the New Brunswick Museum will provide an overview of NBM resources available to genealogical researchers. This will include a demonstration of the archival, library and photographic databases as well as the six virtual exhibitions created by the Archives and Research Library. All are accessible on the New Brunswick Museum website.
Saint John Free Public Library will also give a tour of their genealogy section and a session on Ancestry.com.
There is no admission fee to attend these learning sessions. It's hosted by the Saint John Branch New Brunswick Genealogical Society, who welcomes everyone with an interest in genealogy.
Plan to come for a wonderful day navigating the web to learn about researching your New Brunswick ancestors as well as getting familiar with surfing the net. Furthermore, the museum encourages a visit to their exhibitions over the lunch break at no charge.

I was not able to attend, but from all reports through the grapevine, this was a WONDERFUL LEARNING SESSION and enjoyed by all with a REALLY GREAT ATTENDANCE.
MORE GREAT SESSIONS TO COME - If you have ancestors from Scotland - MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR THE EVENING OF June 17, 2010 as The Associates of the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick is hosting a session on researching Scottish ancestors to be held at Saint John Free Public Library, Market Square, Saint John, New Brunswick in the multi purpose room from 6:30-8:30 PM on Thursday, June 17, 2010. Patricia Whatley, University Archivist and Director of on-line studies in archives and family history at Dundee University will be the speaker. This will be free and open to the public.
