On Feb 1, 2022 we lost one of the most knowledgeable genealogists and historians. My Mom, Ruby Cusack, had a passion for local history and genealogy. She helped many people from all over the world search their NB roots. She wrote several books on local history and was involved in a local TV series “YesterYear Lady” on the With Bobby show that aired on Cable Six in the 1980’s. We have lost so much knowledge with her passing. Mom wrote close to 600 articles/columns on local history and genealogy, which she has posted on this site. There are thousands of visits monthly to this site. In the summer of 2024, I was contacted by a lady from France who read an article that Ruby had written on her grandmother. When she came to NB she met with me. I’m sure her Grandmother and Mom were smiling down on us while we talked about them. To preserve Ruby’s information this website will be kepted online by myself and Ruby’s Granddaughter, Carrie Pearle Hawthorne, whom is following in her footsteps of being a teacher and has a love of history.
